CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EVENTS

Business After Hours

From the President

Howdy!

First, I would like to thank all of you for this great honor to serve with you and for you as your 2014-2015 chapter President.

As your new chapter President, I would like to introduce myself and let you know my goals for the upcoming year. My name is Flora Reeves and I work at Transportation Services as a Lead Office Associate. I just passed my 32nd year with Texas A&M.  I am married to Wayne and have four children and four grandchildren.  My hobbies are hanging with my best friend and sister-in-law Sherra.

I will work hard for you and with you. With you by my side we can accomplish whatever we set our minds to do.  I believe in teamwork (together everyone achieves more) as there is no “I” in team.

I have three goals for this year:

  1.  Make our Chapter as strong and productive as it can be thru communication, hard work, and team work.

  2.  Continue our community service as it will build stronger ties with both our community and our chapter.

  3.  Continue to encourage our members to attend as many meetings and functions as possible for support and interaction.

I encourage each and every one of you to get involved as much as possible. Be strong in yourself, as you will have strengths we may need to draw from. Be in the know, if you do not know, ask--don’t be shy.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions you may have. If I do not know the answer, I will find out and let you know as quickly as possible. I cannot help if I do not know there is a problem.

I encourage questions, concerns, and any ideas you may have as this is your chapter. I know these are uncertain times but I encourage you to embrace the coming changes, remain positive, and continue to move forward.

I look forward to an exciting year!

Always Bring Your “A” Game!!

AP Exam — Computer-Based Testing

One of the initiatives of our Strategic Plan 2013-2018 is to move our CAP certification exam and OM specialty exam from paper and pencil testing to computer-based testing.

We are excited to announce that we currently plan to move to computer-based testing in 2015. We can’t share a lot of specifics yet; however, we can say that computer-based testing will be done through a company with secure testing centers and a consistent delivery system, with testing locations throughout North America.

In order to make this a smooth transition, we will not be providing testing for CAP certification or the OM specialty in November 2014. As such, the only test date in 2014 will be the upcoming May exams.

Also, with the change to computer-based testing, we will be changing our application deadline dates and the actual exam dates. Our plan right now is to offer the exams in March and September, replacing our current schedule of May and November.

This is an exciting change for our certification program, and we know there will be many questions. Once all of the details are finalized, we will provide updated information. Our goal is to have this information available by EFAM 2014.
