ABOUT International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP)

The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 28,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development.

ABOUT BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION CHAPTER
The Association of Administrative Professionals Bryan-College Station, Texas is a voluntary national association administered by its members, for its members.  Our diverse membership includes full or part-time administrative professionals in various industries, academia, home-based and service. This is a supportive local and national network which will give administrative professionals opportunities for personal growth and career development.

Due to the high demand of administrative roles, and rapidly changing office environment, demands and skills required of administrative professionals are increasingly acknowledged by the public and employers. Today’s office professional handles duties such as project management, computer applications, organization, scheduling, communications, statistical data, event planning and much more.  To keep up with the demand, IAAP offers professional development to include the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) exams.  Our local Bryan/College Station Chapter assists those interested in taking the exams by providing weekly classes and uploading audio taped from the sessions on to the website.

Each year a Board of Directors is elected to oversee the proper functioning of the Association.  The Board comprises President, President-Elect, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, and Immediate Past President.  The Board is assisted by a number of Standing and Ad hoc Committees, which are headed by Chairpersons.  These committees are responsible for the formulation and execution of the various programs.
